Parents: two practical alerts from the past week.
ONTHEWEI Baby Bath Seats Recall
On October 8, 2026, the CPSC recalled about 2,140 ONTHEWEI baby bath seats sold on Amazon. The seats are unstable and can tip over, creating a drowning risk. They violate the mandatory standard for infant bath seats.
What to do: Stop using immediately. Mark the product “RECALLED,” disassemble it (remove back rest and arm restraints, cut the three suction cups), photograph the destroyed seat, and email the photo to [email protected] for a full refund. Then dispose of it.
Babies’ Magic Tea Gripe Water Alert
One lot of Babies’ Magic Tea Baby Sleep Gripe Water (Lot 25122bw, best before December 2028) contains undeclared alcohols (ethanol, methanol, isopropanol). These can cause drowsiness, vomiting, behavioral changes, or breathing problems in infants.
What to do: Check your bottle. If it matches the lot, stop using it and follow the FDA notice for returns or disposal. Do not give any product with undeclared alcohol to an infant.
Quick household check
- Bath seats and any unanchored furniture.
- Gripe water or “soothing” teas in the cabinet.
- Register products with the manufacturer when possible so you receive direct recall notices.
These are not medical advice. Check official CPSC and FDA notices for the latest details.
