**Parent Briefing — October 15, 2026**
Two updates for parents checking gear and clinic calendars today.
**1. Papablic convertible bedside sleepers recalled (CPSC, Oct 15)**
CPSC announced a recall of about 248 Papablic convertible bedside sleepers. The products violate the mandatory standard for play yards and pose risks of entrapment, suffocation, and fall. No injuries reported so far.
What to do:
- Stop using any Papablic convertible bedside sleeper immediately.
- Check the CPSC recall notice for model details and return/refund instructions.
- Follow AAP safe-sleep rules: firm, flat, bare surface in a crib, bassinet, or play yard that meets current standards. No soft bedding, bumpers, or inclined sleepers.
**2. Pennsylvania measles: 1,222 cases, sixth death under review**
As of October 14, Pennsylvania reports 1,222 confirmed measles cases across 42 counties, with 225 hospitalizations and five confirmed measles-associated deaths. A sixth death in Franklin County is under investigation.
What to do:
- Confirm MMR status for everyone in the household. Infants 6–11 months in outbreak areas may qualify for an early dose — ask your clinic.
- Watch for fever + rash and call ahead if you need care so the clinic can prepare.
- Pregnant people and immunocompromised household members should check immunity with their clinician.
