Diaper Raffle
A practical and highly appreciated activity where guests are entered into a prize draw in exchange for bringing packs of diapers for the new parents.
What you need
- Pre-printed Diaper Raffle tickets (sent with invitations)
- A raffle box or decorative bowl
- 1 to 3 highly desirable prizes (e.g., gift cards, nice wine, gift baskets)
- Extra raffle tickets (for guests who forgot theirs)
- Pens
Setup
- When sending out baby shower invitations, include a small 'Diaper Raffle Ticket'. The ticket should explain: 'Bring a pack of diapers (any size) to be entered to win a fantastic prize!'
- Set up a dedicated table near the entrance with the raffle box, extra tickets, and the prizes on display.
How to play
- As guests arrive, they place their pack(s) of diapers on the table.
- For every pack they bring, they write their name on a raffle ticket and drop it into the box.
- Near the end of the shower, the host or the parents-to-be blindly draw a ticket (or multiple tickets) from the box.
- The name drawn wins the prize. The real winners, however, are the parents, who go home with a massive stockpile of diapers.
Variations
- Wipes Raffle: Instead of (or in addition to) diapers, ask guests to bring multi-packs of baby wipes.
- Book Raffle: Ask guests to bring a new or gently used children's book instead of a card to build the baby's library.
