Don't Say 'Baby'
A classic test of concentration! This game spans the entire length of the party and keeps everyone highly engaged as they try to avoid the most common word of the day.
What you need
- Clothespins, safety pins, or plastic bead necklaces (one for each guest)
- A small sign explaining the rules
Setup
- Place a basket of the clothespins/pins at the entrance with a decorative sign explaining the rules.
- Instruct each guest to take one item and attach it to their shirt or wear it as they arrive.
How to play
- Once the guest puts on their pin, they are no longer allowed to say the word 'Baby' (or any other chosen forbidden word) for the duration of the party.
- If someone catches another guest saying the forbidden word, they get to steal that person's pin and add it to their own collection.
- Guests can accumulate multiple pins. If they say the word again, they lose all the pins they are currently wearing.
- At the end of the shower (or right before opening gifts), the person wearing the most pins wins the prize.
Variations
- Forbidden Gestures: Instead of a word, forbid an action, like crossing legs or arms.
- Multiple Words: Ban 'Baby', 'Cute', and the baby's actual name if known, using different colored pins for each word.
